John M. O'Donnell Profile

John M. O'Donnell is a 1989 graduate of the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of
Law, graduating with “great distinction" in the top 1% of his class. He graduated "Order of the Coif" and as a member of the Traynor Honor Society. Mr. O’Donnell received numerous awards for academic excellence, including American Jurisprudence awards in Contracts, Creditors Rights and Debtors Remedies, Insurance Law, Income Tax II and Criminal Procedure. Mr. O’Donnell obtained his BA in Public Administration in 1986 from California State University, Chico.

Since beginning practice in 1989, Mr. O’Donnell has focused his practice on representing debtors and creditors in bankruptcy. Mr. O'Donnell regularly lectures on various areas of civil litigation and bankruptcy law. He has served as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President and President of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Sacramento County Bar Association (1997) and has served on the Bar Council for the Sacramento County Bar Association.

Mr. O’Donnell is a court appointed Temporary Judge overseeing Dispute Resolution
Conferences for the El Dorado County Superior Court. Mr. O’Donnell is a court appointed
Resolution Advocate for the Voluntary Dispute Resolution Programs for the United States
District Court for the Eastern District of California and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of California.
